Does it not occur to then to not drive through water nearly up to their bonnet?

If I was their insurance company I would laugh in their face

When I read this I imagined water about waist deep, the water in that video was just over ankle deep. I don't see a problem so long as caution was exercised.

There are deeper fords on some country roads.

I watched the first minute. If you are talking about the red volvo guy maybe some electrical fault stopped the car if he was just going too fast and the water backed up into somewhere. The water was only just covering the rims. Too much speed from some of those people crossing definitely. That is not smart.

My old Integra had the air intake mounted very low, I quickly changed that. Hydrolocking is bad mmmmmmk.

Most people don't know the safe height of water their can can reliably drive through. I don't know myself, but I've taken my old starlet through a few deep flash floods without a problem.
