I don't usually look at the sella auction site, hardly suprising given the state of their current auctions:

unless i'm reading this wrong, there are only 18 or so things for sale (excluding jobs/motoring/real estate/business for sale)

Yes I thought it had closed down. They should really take the site offline rather than leave it like that. Maybe they could sell it, someone may pay for it, rather than developing their own one.

They are not closing Sella down.  It will be left running for Real Estate classifieds and Motor Vehicles.

Well surely they are going to redo it for that? Hardly has anything on it , except in those areas. Why would they have all the other areas still listed?

Which is all that was ever there anyway really.

Every time I listed anything to sell, I just had scammers contacting me.

Sella had a really good chance to take on TM, but extremely poor marketing let it down.

Unless Trade Me massively screws up the first mover advantage is just too high.

Sella spent a lot of time and money on their site and had some fairly high profile charity auctions.

I really doubt they could have done anything differently other than spend a lot more money for no gain.
