Is anyone else as shocked as the news media to find cold weather happening in the depths of winter?

How is the "Polar Blast" affecting your hometown? Here in Hamilton its cold and wet. I doubt we'll see snow...

At least it hasn't been called a weather bomb yet.

Freaking cold here when the wind blows (Albany, Auckland) - spent 15mins outside and was frozen.

Sitting back inside now at a nice 22C

Wife said they had major hail short time ago (Whangaparaoa) and its freezing cold and the fire isnt making a difference.

Chilly here in Whakatane. We had some light rain earlier but it wasn't too bad. Still, it's winter, so it's not like it's completely unexpected!

The heatwave over the extended summer seems such distant memory...

We barely made it to 11 degrees today which is damn cold for the Far North.  But I have a big stack of dry Ti Tree firewood cut during the summer, so it's all good Laughing

Some minor hail and a cold (for Auckland) wind today. Interspersed with sunny spells.

Friend in Oxford has thick and fast snow and is freezing.....

Four degrees in Dunedin with rain. Typical winter's day. I thought it was going to be the end of the world after the opening story on One news last night.

It's not cold. It's wintery.

Expect NZ Herald to post a story about cats on Caturday.
