Hey guys.

Sometimes I get these sudden "emotions" that come across me and I get really happy and love life. Not sure why, just sometimes I think wow I love my life.

Do you ever get these feelings? Why do you love your life? Got a new toy? Got married? New house? Had takeaways for dinner?

Tell us..

Why do you love your life....? Doesn't matter how big or small :)

Moving to New Zealand. My wonderful wife, family and friends. And I get to work with things I am interested in and only have one boss (me).

Now with all that's happened to me in the last few months (see other posts from today for a rough idea) I wouldn't say I lovemy life so much but I would like to say I really do love my partner of the last 9 months or so she has been totally amazing and came into my life rather unexpectedly for someone who I never really thought I wanted to even meet I truly now am the happiest I've been with a partner ever plus with all the rubbish I've been through in the last 3 months she has been my rock and I just wanted to get that out there that she is and has been truly amazing through it all and of course all my kids are great too.

I'm generally pretty happy that I was born in New Zealand. No matter whats goes wrong at least I've got it pretty good living here. Sometimes I feel bad for people in China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc; but then I remember they make my cheap clothes and electronics without which my meager wages would barely cover rent and food.

In the past 11 months I have gotten engaged, gotten married, gotten a better paying job, sold my first house for a 13% profit which paid the deposit on the next house much bigger much nicer house, gotten a dog, started a business, and now have a kid on the way.

So yea, been a quiet year.

Sometimes I look out the window and see Wellington and think: "Wow, this has to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world to live in".

I grew up in Auckland and have travelled both here and overseas from that experience I say Wellington is something special.

I love my life because I have my TV, home theatre, PS3 & NTPC set up in my bedroom the way I like it the electric blanket is on my bed and I am working my way back thru Fall Out New Vegas.

I love my life because my brother-in-law dropped his black lab off for an extended stay while they are building so I have an awesome dog to play with and spoil!

I love my life because it is off season so I don't feel obligated to ride my horses every night after work.

I love my life because my workmates wife works for Nestle and brings in chocolate to share.

I love my life because my girl friend likes buying me presents.

I love life because even though we have a corrupt government who is for sale to the highest bidder, we can vote them out at the next election.  Well, hopefully.

Being able to go tramping / hiking in the weekends, Escape in to the bush, go sailing, kayaking, Jump in to the water and swim in the streams (Waitakeres) or what ever outdoor activity takes your fancy. IMO, New Zealand's the place for it and have often regarded New Zealand as bit of an outdoor adventure playground to the world.

Other than that. In good physical health and financially stable (good paying Software Dev job, no debts, savings, etc). Overall, Fairly content with my life with few complaints. (apart from Auckland's Car dependence perhaps, but that's for another time...)

I'm really looking forward to a steak and mince cheese pie tonight. Haven't had one for ages. Life is good.

For how long?

Unfortunately it feels like the spend-money-we-don't-have party has a good chance of forming a minority coalition and getting back in to government.

Sometimes I hear these voices in my head, calling 'Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!' They are often accompanied by apparitions of small people bouncing up and down. On the whole I think I like them, so I will allow them to stay.
