I'm sure there're some trademe pros on here, so I'm after some advice. I put a PC on sale on trademe. $1 reserve:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=614809468

Pretty quickly I get a number of watchers and a couple of lows bids from one bidder. Then another bidder comes along with a much higher bid. Then leaves a slightly odd "question" which I sort of answer.

Now they leave another odd question which prompts me to look at their history a bit further. Some of their feedback doesn't look encouraging and most of their "trader responds" comments in response to positive feedback received is just downright weird.

So, for the experienced trademe-(ers?)  - what would you do?

Holy crap. Someone put a feedback on this guy and his response was:

"The someone else (his father) has the PC case opened for the hard drive & you has poor hearings or memory to get the accuracy from him? No way by illusion to get the 'Pentium' name anywhere on the PC. CPU fan sticker shown AMD. Sure is time wasting to sell something not what I wanted. Auriga brand PSU has bad capacitors, good for overclocking, as voltages are higher. Huh? Seven Lin is a minor only, what a shame!"

And then he commented on another feedback:

"About another seller's auction, I completed a very simple & quick trade with trader realwholesale (listing 542915750) at 18/12/2012, I placed a good FB on him but no FB from him in return for over a month, never experienced anything like that from a high volume seller before. Ended up blacklisting him and removing the FB."

And on:

"About the other auction with trader "mccm" (Jimmy), Jimmy is so funny, I communicated with him by 4 emails in 3 days & still no pick-up address, and he failed to tell me if he's busy or dead, so i assumed that he were dead, as I'm alive all free 24 hours a day, can pick-up at any time."

Seriously, there are some characters on Trade Me. But then, again, on the Internet.

Best thread ever.

There is a small mark on t screen, I tried to clean it 1st, turned out to be a scratch, then on t next day I can scrape it off with my fingernail, so is it a scratch or not? Stupid Philips product, even on DVI-D cable, only 2 resolutions that gives perfect aspect ratio are 1440x900 & 1680x1050, all other reso gives wider pictures - so crazy if used for old day 4:3 aspect ratio games.

Thanks for the trade

trader responded:

Tells me what's wrong with the montior ONLY when I'm there to pick-up. A lot of oily grease all over the front screen panel & on the back with some hairs, a bit dirty with the stand! There's probably not a God, so stop worrying and enjoy your life! because I've a cleaner called Sam Morgan. Better to stay with your pets ONLY!!!!

Seems pretty odd but the trades mostly seemed to have been completed succesfully. Good luck with the trade there's always a chance they won't win.

Is this sh*t run through a bad version of Google translate or something?? I can't stop reading.

I was wondering about blacklisting. If you blacklist someone with a leading bid, does it remove their bid? I see I don't need to provide an explanation for blacklisting, but what about removing bids?

He seems to have a bit of a pattern when it comes to buying pc components:

Originally buyer posted positive feedback and then changed it to neutral because he wanted his money back even after he had damaged the product I sold to him. Dishonest and unfair trader, watch out.

trader responded:

Tradinone is not a liar, he's insane! The PSU was at least 3 years old (it's warranty expired by 2005 July). In this auction, he replied: "the PSU is only 6 months old and was purchased new". Trade Me has made changes last year & is no longer keeping the Q&A section in record if it was 1/2 y.o. I gave him a neutral feedback on this one only. See my auction #104876197 & trader cocopops1's feedback. By then I don't know what a tribunal court is, but he'll pay ...

Trade went sweet until this guy started complaining and then placed feedback against me, i sold a computer to him "as is" as it was pretty much untested, it was a $1 dollar reserve auction. Some parts of the computer played up and he started complaining, his english is average at best, i don't think he understands the term "as is", it appears he expected a perfect pc...would stay away from this guy. Sad the trade ended like this.

trader responded:

a blown out PC,dead AGP card & mobo. DVD drive 1/2 faulty. He tried his best to impress it's just an unused PC for 9 months & should still go well. It's extremely dusty with a mat of dust on the CPU heatsink & many other parts, has corrosions & rusts. PSU has a scorched(FDD)power connector. The CPU has some strange stuffs at it's top. Bought for $250 + $200 other misc expenses. Only about 50% of the PC worked. Far worser than buying it all brand new. No refund was ever made! zzz zzz zzz zzz zzz

The buyer purchased the video card which worked perfectly when I was using it and said he had to 'cut' it to get it to fit his computer and now it doesn't work??? If he had not of modified the card I would of happily given him his money back in return for the card, but obviously as he has modified the card I cannot do this. He has placed negative feedback on me and asked me to pay him money to remove it?? Very dishonest and unfair trader, be warned.

trader responded:

Had a big long broken crack in the VPU fan, fixed with superglue. The fan didn't even work! I've only cutted a bit of plastic off the DVI connector to make it fit the mobo. Said he bought the card new, but knew nothing about the missing sticker on the fan. The card is about 2 to 4 y.o. No refund was ever made. Tested by a professional & he told me NZ is a 3rd world country, too poor to test a $350 AGP card. I deleted the feedbacks on him because he is pathetic.
