Hi

I just bought a Nespresso U EN110B  on trade me and have ordered the following capsules online

I wonder what other geekzoners buy as I what I  drink mostly are long blacks and the occasional flat white
and wanted to try out these before I buy more.

I did try the Espresso capsules from the Warehouse and did not enjoy them very much

And is it normal for some water to collect in the drip tray ? ( the compartment right underneath the used capsule container)
Not the magnetic cup support .

Ristretto
Ciocattino ( wanted to brew a hot chocolate)
Roma
Fortissio Lungo
Decaffeinato Lungo

thanks

Hmmmm. Here we go.

Yep - please don't reply.

The tip is that ristretto and lungo weren't ever coffee "flavours", except in the vivid imagination of a few bored housewives - a fact wildly exploited by a certain Swiss multinational intent on outdoing Epson, HP, and Canon printer divisions in devising "consumer lock-in" and hugely over-priced fluids.

For decaf I prefer the 'Intenso' option, otherwise it's Ristretto

I buy a mix of Roma, Arpeggio and Ristreto. I'd go for 100% Ristreto but I have some guests from time to time who rather have something "softer" and that's where those other two come in.

That is so weird ! I have a standard espresso machine which I dont use that much due to "cant be bothered" I saw the clooney ads and thought a while back Hmmm might get one of those

So its funny that its being discussed her as I was just looking yesterday on trademe

So my question

Which machine?

Is it easier?

I also see that you can get little containers on amazon that you can fill and use in the machines they work?

I find the Nespresso U really easy.
Just insert the capsule and close the flap.  No mechanical level to close and the piercing and ejection of
capsule is all automatic

Also the water tank is on a swivel arm and can be adjusted to fit the bench space available.
The length of the pour can be adjusted as well or use the factory default timings for extraction.

About 25 seconds for the unit to warm up and ready for use.
I paid about $250 on TM for this unit including post , which was in good condition.

I use a plunger and the occasional stove top one if I have time, but reading this forum, I settled for the
Nespresso brand.
I was keen on the Sunbeam Caffe Latte at Harvey Normal for $279, which had good reviews, but wanted something
that was easy to use .

cheers
