Ok this is a very tongue-in-cheek question but;

Reading this stuff story about Happy Birthday plays on Mars I got wondering - did someone have to pay a royalty to the owner?

Options;
No - it was played on Mars and there is no trade agreement
No - we actually made our own version of a happy birthday song (like they do on TV)
No - but the lawyers will be in touch
No - and here is your first strike letter from the ISP/RIAM (Recording Industry Association of Mars) for illegally downloading

Yes - the spacecraft left from the USA - it's the right thing to do
Yes - the tune was actually broadcast from the USA and played on Mars
Yes - the tune was broadcast from Mars but played in the USA

Remember this is for fun

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Everytime I hear someone singing Happy Birthday to You in public I think of the unhappy birthday website. I haven't yet dobbed anyone in though.

That's funny - very tempted to send the pre-written letter.  But then I probably don't want to raise my head above the parapet
