File photos are fine, but seriously a P51 WWII fighter in place of a twin turbo prop passenger planes from 2013?

Offensive to plane spotters everywhere!

Yah I hate it when the "press" do things like that. It's like when "stuff" reports a dog attack they always use a picture of a snarling German Shepherd despite that almost of the attacks are by other breeds of dogs.

Headline from the other day

'James bond actor dies'. With a photo of Daniel Craig by it.

Turns out it was some other dude who died who had once acted in a James Bond film.

To be honest these examples are just typical or the short of rubbish that journalists spew out.

Personally I rate politicians above journalists.

Yup in the last 3 years I have found the quality of journalism in NZ and overseas (But particularly NZ) to be almost unbearable.

Watched the local news the other night and it had a story about public service advisor Doug Martin being appointed as the new Crown Manager at Christchurch City Council.

Trouble is they flashed a photo of Douglas Martin the ex Lincoln High teacher who was done for up skirt photo shoots.

Knowing our council the appointment wouldn’t have surprised me.

freitasm: Or when KTVU TV station got the Asiana crash pilot names wrong:

There's a little more to this one though - they got the names from the NTSB. An intern there thought they were being funny. Still, it shouldn't have taken more than a second or so to realise something wasn't quite right.

saw one the other day, picture of Lomu and his wife with the headline about a split.  It was about him and his manager, not his wife.

If you are going for these "mistakes", other day I saw a headline about someone being convicted for child abuse and the photo was of the judge in the case. If you don't read the caption you'd think he's the one who was convicted.

And politicians are probably low rated because of journalists.

Chatham Pacific was operating a DC-3 on the Tongan routes, so it's not actually so far out there :-)
