Warehouse link is nothing like what Amazon are offering.
Amazon has Ultra and Extreme versions, Warehouse only has normal

Last week I paid $54 shipped for a 32GB Transcend card (good quality) from aquliatech. The Sandisk is NZ$44 shipped from Amazon. That's a small saving, but for a single card probably not worthwhile.

If a bunch of people needed memory cards and one person did an order now that would be useful.

I buy mine here in Oz from a company called MSY.

Got a Kingston 32GB class 10 microSD for AU$29 yesterday. They have the full size SD for $25.

To ship a USB stick from Amazon is going to cost NZ$17.25 by Youshop (according to their calc) or NZ$18.14 direct, so you need to factor that in too.

Amazon Prime members may get better deals, I'm not sure. Still under $NZ60 for a 64GB Cruzer stick shipped though.

According to Pricespy at least, that's under half price :)

How fast are they tho? The last sandisk USB I got was only USB2, but it was barely seeing 6 MB/s on it. Was one that slid the usb inside with a thing on the side since I have lost so many USB caps I dont get drives with them anymore.

Really without benchmarks I dont trust flash drives these days, they seem to be the only thing in IT that is getting slower and slower.

I never bought a USB flash drive. And I have lots. I saw a Sony USB 3 flash drive other day and I was given it to test.

In reality, USB 3 and USB 2 flash drives are pretty much the same. Really slow in both cases. Very different of getting a SSD in a USB 3 case - now that's fast.

In reality, USB 3 and USB 2 flash drives are pretty much the same. Really slow in both cases. Very different of getting a SSD in a USB 3 case - now that's fast.

disagree completely. we have USB2 and USB3 flash drives here and the difference is huge. the USB2 ones max out around 20-25MB/sec whereas the USB3 ones are 100-120MB/s. the 100MB/s difference is enormous, especially when shifting 50GB database files around

Agree - sort of. I just did a quick test with a Corsair Flash Voyager Slider 16GB (USB3.0). 160MB file copy on then off, to local SATA 6Gbps SSD. USB 2.0 port, then USB 3.0 port.

USB 2.0 - Read 22.1MB/sec Write 15.7MB/sec
Corsair - Read 68.2MB/sec Write 19.6MB/sec

So, clearly the write speed of the flash is a limitation, but for read in particular there is a big improvement. I've got a 64GB version too, it gets slightly higher read speeds but more like 60MB/sec writes.

I have a Sandisk Extreme also, though not with me to test, but I am confident it has done both read & write at about 180MB/sec.
