Just wondering if anyone has recent experiences with getting the warehouse to look at a faulty phone? One I bought on sale there has started playing up.  I seem to remember they used to charge a $50 "inspection fee" to send a phone away to be looked at - though I recall they refunded it if the phone was faulty and still under warranty.   Do they still do this and can they do it under the CGA?

Also any idea who they send it do and how thorough a job they do actually inspecting it?  The problem is somewhat intermittent - sometimes it seems ok when you first unlock the phone, but most of the time after a wee bit of use the touchscreen registers touchs when nothing is touching it. I just don't want them to send it away and they turn it on for 2 mins and "inspect it" and think there is no issue.

Just interested in any recent experiences really... :)

Yes they can request a bond for the inspection fee if the phone is found to be a non warantee fault, they have to pay for the service compaies time.

This was on fair go the other day.

As for intermittent faults, they are the bain of  any serviceman.

I took my phone to Nokia for a fault, I cant remember what, all they did was factory reset it & updated the firmware.
two or thee days later I took it back to them for the same fault and all they did was factory reset it again, on the third visit they replaced the phone.
later.
