I only brought them a couple of months ago and they cost over $200.

User error or consumer guarantees?

gjm: too many pies?

Yeah but "fit for purpose"?

The sales assistant was well aware of how many pies I intended to eat whilst wearing them.

Ken Keniff, from Connecticut?

Anyway, take them back to the store, they're likely to repair them for you.

$200 ?????

Let's see, $5 total cost of manufacture by some asian sweat shop 'employee whose annual take home pay is $241 US just so the corporate 'entity' you bought it from can claim their asian workers are paid above the UN world poverty line.

IOW You paid $195 for the label sown on the jeans.

Update:
Took them back to Politix today and got a straight swap for another similar pair. Also took in another pair of dress pants I brought last November that has started to fall apart at the seams which they're repairing at no charge. I guess you pay for that service let alone I don't think you can get these kinds of pants at kmart.

Of course you wont those kind of pants at Kmart. You dont pay for the label at Kmart, Farmers, The Warehouse, you pay for the pants.

Bought a pair of 'business shoes' 2 1/2 years ago, cost $39.95. worn daily, hardly any wear on them after 2 1/2 years, They were replacements for another pair I had bought 8 months earlier for $249.95 from an 'upmarket' shoe store. The 'upmarket pair had worn out, heels worn down and detaching from one of them.

I had taken them back to the 'upmarket' shop to ask why these expensive shoes had only lasted 8 months, and would they replace them with a new pair. NO was the answer, because they said it was normal wear and tear from everyday use for 8 1/2 months.

Yes, because the only costs involved are the manufacturing costs.....
