I recently watched two excellent documentaries: The Pirate Bay: AFK; and Downloaded (about Napster).

I'm really keen to watch some more tech related documentaries or movies. Anyone know of any?

Would prefer proper documentaries but I did enjoy the likes of Pirates of Silicon Valley, and The Social Network, so if you have any movie recommendations let me know too.

One of my favs is Startup.com. Possibly the quintessential dotcom boom doco. Following a couple of friends and their start up idea, cameras capturing everything from start to finish.

There was a four-part TV series called "electric dreams" or similar that I quite enjoyed. They took a five person family back to 1959 in terms of their house fit-out and technology to see how they would cope.

Then every day they advanced the calendar a year and the technology that had become available that year was supplied. They also had some "typical" related tasks that were in vogue at the time to complete - such as cooking a complete dinner party using ingredients available at the time and the "new fangled" 600W microwave oven.

The hitch-hikers guide should be read, as a trilogy in five parts. The movies not bad, but the books are much better.

Revolution OS is a great movie to watch if you are interested in the history of the open source movement.

I also liked startup.com which is mentioned above.
