I had a package sent to Youshop which arrived 3 Sept. Still not notification from Youshop even though the local NZ Post CSR's can see the package through its UPS tracking number.

Apparently the package arrived as unidentified. I am not sure why since while my Youshop ID was not in the name field, the Suite # was in the address line. Since packages are handled manually on arrival, one would think that if you can see Suite # NZnnnnn anywhere in the address, it's pretty trivial to locate the Yousho recipient.

It would be illuminating to actually see their operation. One can only imagine!

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

You answered your own question. Yes you do, as you found out. If you don't enter it, it won't be able to be identified, as you are a number, not a name in their system.

No really since the Youshop ID is both in the name e.g. Joe Smith NZnnnnn but also in the Suite #. Do you really need both?

The Suite # is ignored by the carrier - it's just something to tag the package to a Youshop client. They all arrive at the same destination.

Yes that is why in the instructions they gave you , it needs to be entered in both places on the package.
