Hi all,

 

Looking to do a family roadtrip in the north island over the Christmas / New Year holidays.  Stopping in nice family orientated locations, so far we have Naipier / Hastings to go to Splash Planet, Rotorua or Taupo and maybe Tauranga for something diffrent, and Auckland & Waiheke for famiy.  Anyone out there got some cheap accomodation suggestions for these places, or suggestions on other places that are good to stop between Wellington and Auckland with fairly cheap accomodation?

Note this is for a family of 5 (2yr, 6yr, 8 yr + 2 Adults)
