Anyone else have massive problems with the TVNZ stream today of the racing? I watched at home on TV the first race, and the second race, I raced to work where I have watched racing with little or no buffering over the last few days, however today the most I could get was 1-2 seconds of continious play and then big puases, worse still they didn't even seem to be showing it live! I quit after a while and just watched the live chat (poor second choice).

Anyone know what happened with the TVNZ stream and have a few other live streaming urls to share?

Youtube and Redbull sites are both Geolocked right now though they both worked fine for a few days at the start.

There is also the apps, they give you a live virtual eye view of the race which is damn handy for keeping tabs on what's happening.  No commentary though.

The Ipad app gives you streaming commentary and virtual eye

Probably can't handle the thousands of highspeed corporate connections leeching it hard :) Serious..roads were sweet this morning when its usually peak from those who had gone in early or going late just to see it

Got a radio? Radiosport have our local friend Montgomery making a ballsup of naming whos infront all the time but at least the information flows better than reading a twitter feed.

And yes, the ipad and android apps are awesome. The virtual eye is cool. And if you load the telemetry data as pointed out, you get a buffered live stream from the helm of either team

Our office admin was watching the live stream this morning and it was pretty bad but I noticed that last week too.
I've got a mediaportal server setup now so we can watch it on our workstations from the UHF broadcast at work. :)

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

The Youtube live stream is much more stable and higher quality, if you can put up with the American commentary.

Youtube works fine if you're accessing it from within the app.

I am not sure why TVNZ is failing. It uses Akamai which has clusters in all the big ISP's in NZ.

The Orcon cluster has 10Gig ports and is not even close to be full. So its not a capacity thing.

Boggled!

We had to resort to Youtube streams from our Australian POP.

As pointed out, now if you are in NZ, you have to jump through hoops to mask your IP geolocation, or hope your ISP does it for you as its blocked

Interesting, wouldn't for me. Still said not available in your location

In either case, taken my spare HD receiver to my onsite location and usin their projector. As has another staff member in another building (on flattened rabbit ears.. amazing the people that still think you need a $130 antenna to do the trick on digital signals...)

Work office I went in yesterday and setup an antenna made of a anti static strap stretched to about 1m.. and its just fine :)

Works fine for me and I know plenty of others doing this also on their phone or tablet so they can watch the stream while mobile.

All you need to go to is "Live: America's Cup Finals" in the app.

I still want to know why there is only 1 online feed available via websites in NZ and why or how it could possibly be down during crucial races. Wondering who to contact at TVNZ?

As i mentioned in the other AC Stream thread there is a fairly easy way around the geo block for youtube with a extension for chrome or firefox called Stealthy. Check that thread for more info. a 720p connection without buffering is waiting on youtube, tvnz need to up there game.

TVNZ use Akamai for content delivery. Issues aren't quite as simple as blaming TVNZ as their could be ISP related issues such as transit coming into play.

Yah I prefer the NZ Commentary honestly, I like our heavily biased bent :)

YouTube stream was working perfectly today, wondering if TVNZ asked YouTube to remove the geoblock to stop the abuse TVNZ were getting ;)
