What country were you expecting? If using the Telecom NZ CDMA network you might get USA, and if using the Vodafone New Zealand HSDPA network you might get Australia...

looks like i am in the same situation as tonyhughes. i did the test message at work (Telecom ADSL, don't know what plan) to see if i can get a NZ flag instead of an AUS flag... and posting at home i am still getting the AUS flag (Telecom Go Large).....
oh well, my cable is up and running, will change to that once i got my correct LAN/WiFi gear.
