Folks, I have TWO double passes to giveaway here, courtesy of the good folks running the Armageddon Expo 2013.

Armageddon Expo 2013 is happening in Auckland 25th - 28th October. Each pass is good for TWO people and can be used only once.

"After an incredible Auckland 2012 event, where 50,000 attendees graced Armageddon with their presence, mixing gaming, comics, Cosplay, collectibles and entertainment, the 2013 event is rapidly approaching with plans for our largest expo ever.

Almost the entire NZ gaming industry has already booked major section at the event, including PlayStation, Microsoft, Fiveight (Warner Brothers), Total Interactive (Activision), EB Games, Mightyape and newcomer from overseas World of Tanks to name but a few. We are waiting on official announcements, but expect some incredible gaming previews this year, exclusive in NZ to Armageddon.

The favorites from past events have returned, starting with the events Burning man (Friday night at 9.15pm), Trading Card tournaments, live Wrestling, animation panels and screenings, movies, eating challenges and oh so much more."

To enter: post a reply here with comments about your favourite comics, characters, scifi movie/series, Extra points for any photo you upload and post showing you in character or with action figures.

I will close this thread Thursday 14th October and get two names. One entry per user, banned users cannot enter, only available to New Zealand residents.

Would be lovely, I'm not much of a comic book guy but I am an extremely avid fan of Stargate and Supernatural as well as a number of other Sci Fi type shows and activities!

Funny you should say that as i just paused Stargate to read this thread.
Personally I would like to see some more of the anime Black Lagoon and the comic series The Red Star by Christian Gossett.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

Stargate.

Hoping that the 3-part movie reboot will help the tv series to kick off again. Really want to know what was planned for SGU, hopefully they'll release the script someday!

I was gutted that I missed Armageddon last year, so I'm really looking forward to this one. Especially the guests from Farscape, SG1 and Doctor Who!

In 1978 I found something amazing in my brothers bedroom. It was called Starburst and it was more than just a Sci-Fi adn fantasy magazine. Inside it, it had a comic book. Not just any comic book. It was a british reprint of a comic (back then this was the only way to get Marvel comics) and it was in B&W rather than colour as it was in the states.

It was the Uncanny X-Men - made John Byrne’s drawings… Without color, and waaaay larger than usual american sizing, the comics really sang. It’s an entirely different animal than the colour and it introduced me to all of the best characters the X-Men ever had.

And in the 2nd ever edition - Thunderbird died......he died! WTF - that wasn't supposed to happen in comic books - was it? It treated me, the reader as an adult not a kid for the first time. Not, 25+ years later - I remember each page. Each frame and each character.

So for me, my superhero isn't a costumed wonder. It's my brother, for buying the magazine in the first place.
