Was out sweeping the gutters on Monday (Wellington) when a non-descript grey car came down the street, turned into our cul-de-sac, and then out off again.

On top was a tall gantry affair with what looked like a blue-black octagonal box at highest point.

I did a little dance so hopefully my 15 seconds of fame will be spread world-wide?

Sounds a bit creepy. Possibily another company could be doing the same thing. In a way I think they should be signwritten on the side of the car to say what they are, for security. You don't know what they could be doing, using a camera to pear over someones fence etc.

Google do tend to stencil their name all over everything they do

It could be one of the other map providers, Bing Nokia etc, or perhaps it was just the NSA

GCSB collecting data for the NSA

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Can confirm, my GCSB compliance chip was installed in my forehead this afternoon.
