Can any of you fellow geeks from wellington mind giving me a hand?  I bought a huge computer case from trademe for a attractive price, the seller is in  newlands however seems to be a bit busy with his stuff and doesn't want to send it off so I am having to see if any of you guys might be willing to pick it up for me on your way to or back from work or during the weekend or something? I could even ask him to meet you in the city.

the seller is happy to package it all up in its original box and everything, just need somebody to pick it up and later drop it off in the nz post office. I will pay for the shipping too, its around $40 bucks.

Why not just book a courier to go and pick it up?

I dont know. courier guys always seem to throw stuff at my door for some reason, and then then they run around or they leave it at the bottom of my stairs. besides they want to charge me twice as much for it. lol.

PS: I can give you something to cover the petrol costs too if anybody might wana give me a hand.

Well considering you have asked this forum to help with your pickups so many times I'm guessing its becoming a habit now and nobody is going to jump out and help.

Seriously, courier pickups are not that expensive.....

Have you thought about getting a bus out there? Even if you have to walk some of the way or getting a taxi part of the way, it shouldn't cost more than $40 I wouldn't have thought.

Yea maybe you are right, I asked once a few months back but that was the only time. I looked up the couries site and the guy was asking like 2x the price of NZ post so thought I'd ask here anyway. I just thought you know, maybe somebody may live close by or go that way from work or meet up the guy or something. I'll see if I can convince the seller to arrange the shipping with me or something.

@matt, i'm in auckland

PatAT, any luck getting it sorted?

I've just emerged from 3-day flu and spotted your post ... happy to collect from Newlands and deposit at NZ Post.

OK, that info wasn't in your post, I presumed you were in the middle of the CBD.

Na mate, haven't had much luck :(

The guy gave me the measurements today (76X36X80 CM).

Any of you guys know any couriers or cheaper postage companies? I went to NZ post and the price is nearly $50 now. however I see some stores retailing the same case but the shipping is just $15 (via fast ways couriers or something) lol.. I am trying to call up a few places tomorrow and see if I can find some prices and maybe convince him to drop it off or something.

Oh, Its a Corsair 900D it seems, got it for a good bargain, but I dont think I can use it anymore since its too big, if any of you guys want it drop me a PM we can sort something out.
