Hi There!

We are looking for a family/small business Lawyer in Auckland (preferably City not North Shore) that can cost effectively handle Wills, Trusts, Conveyencing and general family and business advice matters.

I am ok if it's a one man band or small practice, so long as they are up to date and competent. Good Communication is a must.

Does anyone have a recommendation.

For Family stuff, wills, conveyance etc we use Rhonda Evans - Evens professionals in Rosebank Road Avondale.

For small business stuff I use Mark Robinson - Sandringham law - Sandringham Road, Sandringham

Rhonda was excellent when we did a house transaction, then wills, then power or attorney and was very cost effective.

Mark is very very thorougher when I had to do some comercial law, but he is about to do a rental property for me.

regards
John

networkn!..... you really should be putting location in the subject so that the whole country isn't having to open your thread to see where...

We used Pearl Butler from GellertIvanson in St Heliers when we brought our house and did our wills. Thought the location meant they would be expensive but a friend recommended them and they weren't any more expensive then other lawyers we looked at. She was really good and I enjoyed a comment from the Real Estate agent that went along the lines of "oh not her again, shes such a stickler for detail" Exactly what you want in a lawyer in my opinion.

Cost-effective and lawyer never go together in the same sentence.

When I lived in Auckland (many years ago) I used Bruce Dell for wills and a couple of other matters. I found his rates to be very reasonable - it was a long time ago though so don't ask me to try and recall what they were! What you're after is what he does, as it is with many other lawyers...

EDIT: He's a well grounded person too, a year or so after Peter Plumley Walker got thrown over Huka Falls he put out a radio ad saying he could be found under B and D in the phone book

There are some very good realestate, IT, commercial , family lawyers out there...hard to find but referrals help.
The problem is, you never know unless you try them...$$$$

Some lawyers i dont mind paying their fee's ( $300-$500/hr), others i wouldn't even pay $2.
