Anyone have any thoughts/opinion or have personal experience of AU's Bsc major in comp science or AUT's bachelor of mathematical science major in computer science?

Afraid I can't comment on either of those, but UofA for Computer Systems Engineering or Software Engineering would probably be my pick if I were going to do it again - I did CSE through UofA before they offered SE.  It included a number of BSc papers, all good.

AUT is decent, but I found UoA far better, personally. UoA would be my pick.
