I want to make educational/informative videos of a certain kind for a project im working on and they will basically be a narrated presentation that will be animated in a simple power point-esque manner. Nothing too fancy, just something to get the points across in a YouTube video narrated by myself.

I have after effects but have no clue on how to use it, currently doing tutorials online. is this the program to use? Any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance

After effects and Premier are my first port of call. Ae is more of a shot by shot application though for high end special effects. Slide shows might be better suited to windows movie maker, or use PowerPoint with a free screen recording software. To master After Effects takes a lot more time than either PowerPoint or Movie Maker.
