A family member died recently and we have a few pieces of jewelery that they used to own, which we need to sell, to then divide up the money to family members. Mainly a few old good rings, and a tiny diamond that looks like it came out of a ring. There isn't much of it, but with gold prices the way they are, I am trying to find the best place to maximise the returns.  I know there are gold buyers in the malls, but I have heard that the amount you get from them is a lot less then selling it gold buyers your self. Anyone have any suggestions of where to sell it in Wellington or NZ, or anyone has had an experience recently selling stuff?

Can't vouch for the accuracy of the reporting, but apparently prices hit a 3 year low last week! The article does mention one buyer.
