Does anybody know of any good office chairs that are good for being sat on for a long time i.e a high comfort rating and good back support? That are also good value for money?

Thanks in advance!

I use spectrum 3 chair. Very comfortable and fully adjustable. Highly recommended.

What is your average use in the office chair?
Whats your budget?
Whats your preferred fabric? Polypropylene's are cheap where vinyls are better looking however wool breaths

Lots of variables of a good chair :)

I'm going to noob myself past judgement

Or this one: http://nztech.co/1czRgUi - This one is apparently made from Polyurethane. What's the difference between Polyurethane and Polypropylene?

I guess I may have to go in-store and try them both out!

yeah go in and try them out - we were going to order some and then just off the bat decided to go and try them first - glad we did as they were too small, too crappy, and would have killed us....we ended up paying more for something that was better - generally I would say you get what you pay for...well to the extent where a budget price will be a budget chair...

These are comfy : http://www.systemscommercial.com/products/view/2139
and so are these : http://www.systemscommercial.com/products/view/1901

Both around the 300-400 mark

My current chair has a mesh back (among other things) which is awesome for a sweaty person like myself, as my back can breath against the back of the chair - just something to think about

The Aeron by Herman Miller. Best chair I have ever owned - mine is still going strong and has been at my desk since 1999!

I have the Herman Miller Mirra. Had it since 2008, worth every penny - no back aches, comfortable, adjustable! I looked at it as a 10 year investment given the price, but it will go beyond that.

I did have the luxury of being a consultant in another office for a few months who had these chairs, so I could really try before I bought.

I think Herman Miller Aerons are about $2k each (from memory). We have these in our office: http://www.zenithinteriors.com.au/product/2282 - I think they were about $700 each, very comfortable.

$1500 for the Mirra. Yes, very expensive, but with my back and sitting all day (and recently all night) at my desk, its worth it to me. I image the Aeron would be around $2k.

Just be wary of the burro copies at Warehouse Stationary. I've had a fulton leather (went saggy in the bum and gas leak) and now on one of their premium executive ones ($200ish when on super special). They all tend to have a 4hr only rating, and we all know we sit for longer than that most times!

The foam on this one is fast compressing also, and even has indentations where my elbows sit on the rests now. The seat isself is fine, the foam stuffing appears less than desired across the board

Probably why their 3 year warranty doesn't cover the upholstery!
