I was in Dick smiths the other day looking at their computers. They had IE up on the screen. So I went to firefox and downloaded
it and install it (it let me) did the import from IE and had dse .co.nz as homepage. shut down IE and left with Firefox running.

You should've done what I do everytime I go into a computer shop: set the homepage to Geekzone

Geekzone? yawn, set it to something like TOTSE.com just before kiddies get out of school (bomb recipes etc)

Or something like "www.jaycar.co.nz" (Another electronics store)

The best sites for gags used to be "Flyakite" (MACOS) now DEFUNCT and "Chiptune" (AmigaOS)

Press [F11] and you are set!!!

Of course I took it a step further one day and installed Bootable DOS and Win 3.11 on a USB stick, The salesperson discovering Win3.11 was ACTUALLY RUNNING on all 10 laptops while thying to talk upgrade of the Joneses 386 was just priceless. I put Commander Keen on a random one in the middle.

That's not half bad, the worst thing is when some people think they're being real smart and use paint to make a new desktop background full of swearwords, do you people have no life that you have to get your jollies off over playing with stores computers? I mean really.... oh and Harvey Norman's has far more choice so why not disrupt them instead?

Ive seen people put pornographic pictures up as the background, and then hide the desktop icons :p

Some sales people arent too bright and dont know what to do except hit the power button :D

Wait why is Firefox bad? I love it!! They have so many cool extentions and plug ins and short cuts...I will never go back to IE

No the best one is taking a screen shot of the desktop then apply it as the wall paper and hide all the icons, then minimize the start bar.

I have not done this in a store (thats lame) but I have done it to a co-worker once.

Yes this was done to my boss once, lets just say he is a larger man and someone put BurgerKing as the background.

So when he got back from Burger King guess what was on his PC :D

Oh man someone installed Object Dock, removed the icons, start bar and changed the wallpaper to one that comes with some macs [not sure]

I walked in and listened to this sales person [in DSE] telling the protental customer that the PC in question is one of the new ones with "Mac Win" OS.

I had to walk out and LOL down the street!
