Hi everyone,

I've just been to McDonald's to get my fat for the week :P and they have a prize draw thingy where you text in a code. The problem is that the phone number doesn't look like a valid number, and indeed it fails when I try to text to it using my Skinny phone.

TEXT in the required format:
Unique Letter Combination, first name, last name, postcode to 1999 1444.

Is there a trick to this or has McD's provided the wrong information?

Edit: The fineprint at the bottom says "Open to Aust residents 16 yrs+" along with mentioning mcdonalds.com.au. Looks like they've put the wrong blurb on my receipt. I wonder whether there's a working NZ number for it...

Its a very valid number in Australia :-)

https://www.drivethrutowin.com.au/site/postpromo.html

but in New Zealand.. its a incorrect number..

Have they made a mistake and put the Australian TXT number instead of the NZ one. Or somehow they made a mistake and are using Australian advertising/material instead of NZ stuff.

The proper number is 8887 for NZ

Nope, it's this one: https://amorepromo.mcdonalds.com.au/

After finding that site I tried entering there and it accepted the details (but I didn't win anything!)
