How many went along last night (19th)?

What did you think of the show?

We got there for about 4pm and picked up some t-shirts and headed on in.  we were a bit disappointed with the selection of the shirts, there wasnt much of a line, but they had already sold out of some of the medium sized shirts  by the time we got there, but still got the shirts i wanted which was good.

The show was awesome, we got seats facing both stages and it was awesome!

Hadnt heard of Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats or Eagles of Death Metal, and was a bit disappointed that they didnt appear to fit in with the rest of the lineup.  But Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and Megadeth made up for it.  Devilskin and 8 Foot Sativa were awesome too.

We thought it was  great night, well worth the trip up from Hamilton, ringing ears and tired bodies!

Haha yeah, when i saw them on the lineup i had a look on youtube.  They had a rather pain in the arse part of their set where they had massive feedback from the guitars which they seemed to not notice. Killer on the ears!

And I guess Homme wasn't playing with them?

I understand he was in town, so dare say he WAS with them

THis was all a warm up for Soundwave in Aussie, so I'd imagine that they were all giving it a good lick.

EoDM are a "supergroup" and while they are good (I like them) they are not metal in any sense of the word.

Queens of The Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures also share Josh Homme and are a similar sound.

I heard he wasn't, but if he was (and I doubt he's already in Auckland, given his gig is weeks away) then I'm just a little bummed to have missed it.

It makes me wonder if EoDM were booked for the Westfest just based on their name!
