Hi All,

I just saw this on The Register:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/03/13/huawei_plans_dual_boot_os_phone/

I think the Asus Trio was a bit silly, but the Huawei Android/WinPho8 dual-boot phone? Can somebody please explain why anybody would want one?

At least with the Trio you could, if you wanted, use the two parts as separate devices.

A dual boot phone strikes me as a bit of a present day flying car. It's rubbish as a car and not flash a a plane but ... Did we mention that it's a flying car!

Sure, there are good things about Windows Phone and there are good things about Android but the good things in a dual booting phone?

Anybody see the obvious need for this that I am missing?

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

Not my cup of tea, I would take a Windows phone 8.1 next anyway.
I wouldnt have a single use unless i was a developer on a budget.

Well, 'developer on a budget' is one more use case than I could think of.

The only other reason I can see is to get the brand out, why pick 1 or the other when you can have both.

Mind you i don't really see the point, I do like what blackberry has done however, their own OS (bb10) that can now run android apps.
