A bit off topic but seeing they have a good range in Australia:

Kogan.com launches in New Zealand

After much speculation, Kogan.com, Australia’s largest online retailer, is today launching in New Zealand.

Kogan.com’s dedicated New Zealand site is now live, giving Kiwi shoppers access to the latest technology at lower prices than Farmers, Ballantynes, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, and even TradeMe.

It offers products from an extensive range of brands, as well as Kogan’s own products including the Agora HD+ Smartphone, Agora Smart TV Quad Core HDMI Dongle and Agora HD Mini 3G Tablet.

Kogan.com’s New Zealand site smashes the competition on price by cutting out the middlemen and selling direct. A price comparison with other New Zealand retailers shows Kiwis will pay up to 75% less at Kogan for the latest consumer electronics and gadgets, compared with other retailers.
Since launching in Australia eight years ago, Kogan has experienced tremendous growth. It has delivered millions of products direct to the door of smart shoppers, saving them tens of millions of dollars. Kogan.com is now the largest online retailer in Australia and the team is excited about launching in New Zealand.

Ruslan Kogan, Founder and CEO, said he was excited to bring the Kogan experience to New Zealand.

“For years we’ve been receiving requests from Kiwis who are sick of missing out on the latest technology because they’re getting overcharged by local retailers. They want to be able to shop at Kogan, and have us deliver right to their door.

“We’ve already become synonymous with great value TVs, gadgets and electronics in Australia and we’re thrilled to be able to offer our deals to our friends across the Tasman.

“Our goal is to deliver the latest technology at market leading prices. Whether it is manufacturing our own Kogan products, or sourcing the world’s biggest brands, we can cut out all the middlemen to guarantee the best prices.

“We want to offer Kiwis the same value as we've been offering millions of Aussies for the past eight years.

“Throughout 2014 our New Zealand website will begin to see a wider range of Kogan products on the site. We’re aiming to make Kogan a household name in New Zealand, as it is now in Australia,” Kogan said.

To celebrate the launch, Kogan is holding a huge sale exclusively for New Zealand shoppers. On top of its everyday low prices, there are discounts up to 70% off items from home appliances and cameras to watches and kids toys for a limited time.

YES!

EDIT: NO!

Shipping from Aussie, so add GST and customs charges. Also probably don't have to comply with Consumer guarantees act.

their ipad pricing is amazing (for apple products).

128gig 3g ipad air -- 1109.  Apples price is $1400, so about $300 saving.

I have to assume they are parallel imported.

As Kogan is not trading under a NZ Company Name there is no CGA Protection.

Also you will have to pay Duty/GST for anything which is over $400 (including Shipping) so are the prices really that cheap?

Also their Freight Protection is a bit iffy..

If someone doesn't pay the Extra $9.99 and you find that something bad happened to your Order during shipping then you have no recourse.

I noticed the same thing.  It's a bit misleading to see prices for a "NZ store" version of the website, only to find that GST and customs duty isn't included in the price...

Yes, I am just trying to figure out that information myself.    They are rather frugal with important information.

I checked the companies office website and Kogan are not registered in NZ.

As far as I can tell, they are an Aussie store who ship to NZ .  So , nothing great. Amazon still beats them.

They say at the end of the Shopping Cart.. "I accept that I will be responsible for all Taxes and Duties when my order reaches New Zealand"

That is definitely misleading. Their headline should not be "we are launching in New Zealand". It should be " We can now ship to New Zealand ".

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

That would be good. There is some disconnect between the press release and the actual website.
