Errors can slip through sometimes but that's atrocious.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Ouch just a couple of typos :) I'd be surprised if I ever visit a DSE store again, their prices for cables etc are plain offensive, and they will probably close their stores within a few years anyway.

Just a hunch by the way, I know nothing about the company except they seem to be increasingly irrelevant

I find it funny really but certainly not offended by it as long as it works as its meant to. I buy off them if needed but they aren't the same as they used to be and there are better options in most cases

I like to pop in if there's something in the mailer - last few times I've showed up though there has only been one staff member on and the phone ringing off the hook whilst people are trying to get help all over the store and queuing at the desk. The solo staff member tries their best but no-one can really operate under those conditions.

Nail in the coffin for me was getting a stock level check on an item, showing 5 in stock, neither I nor the solo staff champion could find them. I said no worriers, i'll order online - he said if I did that he'd still have to find them since they ship from the nearest store, and went on to say maybe I shouldn't bother since they were too hard to find.

Aren't DSE branded stuff / house brand/ just rebadged no name stuff. So I don't think the packaging is necessarily a reflection of the product being sold.But three typos on one sentence like that is inexcusable, especially considering the cost of packaging and printing. You have to wonder why no one picked it up. I even spell check my posts on here.

I used to buy from the DSE website all the time, almost weekly I reckon but then they stopped the free delivery and I haven't been back since.

I think you need to spend $99 to get free delivery now.

You could buy a couple of packs of AA batteries or the odd audio cable and with the free delivery it was easy peasy but I guess they had to stop the bleeding somehow.

I haven't bought anything from dse since I got a rude prick being rude saying they won't price match. Been in a few times and looked at their "specials" then looked on pricespy and then left. Pb is not that far from the mall and has been vastly better on all but a couple of occasions.

I kind of respect them for not price matching, as price matching is a lazy sales technique that companies often won't honour anyway due to the fine print. But I am sure it has cost them a lot of business, as most people buying these types of commodity products are solely buying on price.

I don't touch their online since I bought 3 metres of speaker wire, they sent me 3 REELS of it, then called asking me to send it back at my expense.

I pretty much gave up on DSE some time ago, following a long period where I was a heavy purchaser who spent a *lot* there - high end radios, cables, VCRs, components, DVD recorders, etc.

Ever since their makeover they seem to have halved their product range, don't carry anything that other retailers don't carry (Noel Leeming, Harveys etc) and what they do have is usually uncompetitively priced. Unless I see something I particularly want at a very good price in their ad (which is rare) there's simply no reason to go there - they either don't have what I want, or have it at a ludicrous price. Plus, last time I tried it seems that their website no longer tells you which stores have stock so you don't know whether there is any point in a trip.

I think in the last two years I have purchased one thing from them - a USB external drive they had at a good price on special.

Sadly, I suspect they won't be around much longer, as current management seems to have the chain in a never-never land where it is becoming irrelevant. "Half the range at twice the price" doesn't seem like a viable business proposition to me and, for the life of me, I can't figure out what their strategy is?

I agree that DSE has definitely "dumbed down" over the last 2 years, stocking mostly down-market stuff with average prices.

The illustrated label is a collector's item, and should be treasured.

If a company (the OEM) can't put attention to details like this, how do I know the product itself is not flawed?

The same when I visit a company website. For a software/technical company If I see typos (and things such as "there" instead of their and "it's" instead of its) then how can I be sure their software is fault free?
