Yes I know that I don't need to use a Christchurch broker but I would prefer to deal with them in person. Unfortunately the broker I have used before no longer operates in Chch.

I'm looking for a recommendation based on good results please, not just "I used this guy here is his number".

Thanks!

If you need one and can make do with Wellington, then let me know.

I highly recommend Marion Moloney from Mortgage Express. We have used her and recommended her to several friends. She got us a .5% discount and removal of low LVR fees as well as double the standard costs that the bank ususally gives for legal fees etc. She even helped us track down a structural engineer not long after the Canterbury quakes at short notice (bank decided with only a few days left on conditional offer that they wanted an Engineering Report).

Edit: As I'm using IE7 at work I can't seem to enter links, go to: http://www.mortgage-express.co.nz/marion-moloney/

Have you sat down with any banks to see what they can offer ?
We spoke to three different brokers a few years ago, all three laughed at us and said we were dreaming when we said what we were after. Yet the bank offered what we wanted plus more.....

I also used Marion Moloney, from Mortgage Express, and she was excellent. I got a much better deal through her than I could have negotiated with the bank myself.

My brother had the opposite experience.

Our broker has saved us so much time and gotten us a much better rate than what we were offered.

Quick question, my current fixed rate ends in October, how much earlier than that would be appropriate to engage with a mortgage broker?
