We have been having issues with a guy for the last 2 years, It got that bad that we ended up putting cctv cameras around our house.

Upon putting up these cameras this guy rang the police right away, He felt that he was being watched. Police came to view the system and was more than happy with it.

He then started with odd antics, reversing down the road with lights off in fear to be seen, dress up in black and go out walking in the coolest nights. Run his mouth to his friends that somehow seem to believe him, even though he doesn't know anything.

He decided that he didn't like cameras and started putting our neighbors against us, He then decided to put up fake cameras. meanwhile he still runs his mouth off and stirs rumors around town.

He has a grudge against us for some reason and he cant let it go, His best attempt is to get into the local motorbike gang/club as he "hopes" that he may protect him.

a wee while he decided to buy a real cctv camera " remembering he don't like them ", He had rang the police 48 times for really mind numbing stuff just to try get the cops to make us look bad.

Anyway before this all blew up we used to be friends, he lived at our house as soon as he got home from work, I suspect he does not want to spend time at home with his wife.

Any ideas?

Could you please explain what is the relationship at the moment? Does he live with you? If not, why does he feel bothered by the cameras in your property? Can you serve him with a trespass or something so he doesn't come around?

I feel something is missing from this story.

Wow, sounds like a mess.

Just dont give him any reason to pick at you aye. If he gets a reaction it will probably satisfy his small mind.
Dont be the guy that reacts and yells etc.
When some childish prick rally's everyone against you etc its kind of hard to get out of it. But hey, My neighbors hate me. I get noise control or police when ever there is a chance.
My revenge was starting my motorbike at 3AM (99dB of motorbike)

the relationship is that he is 5 houses down the road and used to live on our doorstep until he did like a comment on his facebook page about sport than it all went down hill from there.

It started with getting drunk and yelling abuse then he started throwing stones, police arrested him and a meeting was had, he was asked what is the matter and he didnt know. so the this has been continuing for 2 plus years.

Trespass, and get a protection order. IANAL, find a lawyer.

We dont do anything to him but he gets upset by us driving past his house to goto town, he then tells stories to his friends that we are apparently stalking him.

we live in a small town and his wife works in the only supermarket. rumors have been spread in the supermarket and now the untrue words have even put people that dont even know us against us.

Hes had a protection order on him and that just fired it up worse. from him stalking us, aiming high powered torches at our house at 5am from 5 houses down, then have the cheek to call the cops on us for the most smallest thing that isnt hurting him.

If he is doing that sort of stuff you could go to police and talk about your options. I am sure there is a process for abusive behavior. Just say you fear for your safety etc..

hes lied to the police by ringing up 48 times in 1 year that the police came around to tell us that we have no credibility even though we havn't done anything to him but keep to our selves.

I have to drive past his work to goto work he rang the cops that I was stalking him and wanted a protection order for that, but he didnt know I got a new job just down the road from him. kinda bummed him out.

Sometimes impossible in small towns. Because the small minded piles of crap that dwell on this childish behaviour get kicks out of it and get everyone else on board with it. I would love to just get fluro orange aerosol spray paint and explode a few next to his house walls and view the art it leaves behind.

If he does this. HOW DOES HE HAVE FRIENDS OR EVERYONE NOT THINK HE IS INSANE??
Maybe the entire town is just mentally broken. Small town syndrome?

We cant go shopping in the supermarket as his wife works in the bakery and when they see us they all warn each other and just stand there looking, there has been moments where the bakery staff have come out just to follow at distance, just to see what we are up to.

He has friends because he makes then feel sorry for him and twists them around his little finger like a puppet master. he is a person that tells alittle bit of a story and then have you make up the rest even though its not true but thats how he gets people to run with him.
