http://www.amctv.com/shows/halt-and-catch-fire Another great amc production just premiered a few weeks ago. Rise of the PC in the 1980's. I know a few out there that will like this.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing but all bets are that SOHO will have the rights to it here.

I will say this though, there has been some fairly well placed criticism of the portrayal of the female cast though, especially Mackenzie Davis's character.  While a great unknown actress, EW (rightly, in my opinion) put her role bluntly as fitting the typical "hackergrrl stereotype" and compared it to Abby (NCIS), Garcia (Criminal Minds), Chloe (24), etc which thinking about and reading their article (I'm not sure if the full article is online or not, I'm a digital subscriber of the actual magazine) and watching the show, actually makes some sense.

The show is getting better though, and in the last episode I watched, I couldn't help but think how perfect Leo Spencer (if he was still alive and well) would've been for Toby Huss' role.

Yet to offset that another character's wife is not at all portrayed like that, rather as the every-woman-mother-wife of the time who happens to have a job in hardware at Texas Instruments.  So I think the show is pretty unbiased in that regard.

I've been holding judgment on Kerry Bishe's character, the first two episodes certainly set her up as a really intellectual, hard working and proud character that wanted to see her kids interested in technology too, but the third episode seemed to introduce an aspect (I couldn't pinpoint exactly what yet) that seemed to change the dynamic slightly (i.e. a tad weaker).

As for the episode 4 teaser, I get the feeling her true colours are about to come to light, so I'm reserving judgment until then, if Kerry becomes in any way a more crucial part of the cast, then it will surely balance out the cliche'd character given to Mackenzie, otherwise, I'm not so sure.

Totally agree. I think you can really see the link they are trying to emphasis between Joe Macmillan and Steve Jobs. Still deciding whether it's a bit tacky...
