I want to list a mobile number on my website for people to be able to txt me

1. "I wouldn't if I was you!" why not?
2. "Dont do that there is a much better way" Oh yeah whats that?

My impression on comapnies that list mobiles on their website rather than landlines are that they are one person operations. Also people will likely phone you rather than txt. But other than that no problems. But you may want to get a second mobile phone, so you are not listing your personal number online.

You'll potentially get spam txt? Mobile phone means a business is too small to have a land line. You can get an 0800 number for cheap from a few places, Vodafone do it cheap if you're with them, or WorldXchange. You can't text an 0800 though.

All good points I was actually also going to list a landline for the exact reason you gave
Most of my "goings on" are mail order and at least 20% of my customers wil either send requests from there mobile to email or ask for me to txt them back.
I use the wonderful SMS control center software for direct txting form the computer which makes it a breeze to communicate via txt
And yes i have two mobiles I have been vertical on the planet long enough to know that you dont give customers your personal mobile number!
