The author of this article fails on several fundamental levels, but I'm interested to hear how my fellow Geekzoners feel about this musical partnership!

I kinda feel... let good memories lay. Without Freddie Queen is just not Queen.

Queen were always more than just Freddie, despite how amazing he was.

Brian May is my Favourite guitarist, so getting to see him live is just awesome ( and hear the red special).

I for one will be there.

I do agree with that; not sure how I feel about continuing to call themselves Queen. But they are incredible musicians in their own right, I'm pretty keen on seeing this concert actually. Say what you would about Lambert, he can definitely belt out a Queen number with the best of them.

Queen is one of the bands I rank the greatest, the others are Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Yes,  and the Eagles.

Its not Freddie but it definitely still feels like and sounds like Queen to me :)

I'm umming and arring about this one. I think it will be  agreat show, but it is sort of a tribute band thing. Wonder how much the tickets will be?
Sub $100 may be a go-er.

Unfortunately, I'll be on a plane back from Brisbane so I can't go! :( Of course, I will have just seen them in Brisbane, but I'd rather have seen them at home, just wish they'd announced this earlier.

I'd love to have seen the original lineup but I couldn't (theoretically, I could have I suppose). This the next best thing, I reckon. Lambert is great.

As soon as I saw the headline title in the link I knew it would be a Sweetman written one-eyed, arrogant opinion piece.

I don't have the energy or respect for him to read his articles word-for-word but it looks like pretty typical stuff from him.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Could have seen Queen with Paul Rogers live at the Hollywood Bowl if I'd been in area just one day longer but my 3 day stopover in Hawaii was calling so missed it.  Not sure I would call it Queen with half the band missing but could still be a good show add to this that Freddie was not the only band member to sing some of their songs.

So who else here went to see them at Mt Smart back in '85?
At the time it was my 2nd 'big' concert to go to.  Have probably attended a couple of dozen or so in total in my life and that Queen gig still ranks up there with the best of them.  Was Freddie the ultimate showman?

I'm keen to go, for what it is. I will never get to see Queen live and while I wouldn't have gone to Australia I would go since they are here.

As much as I like Roger Taylor & Brian May, it's just not "Queen" anymore.

Like "Pink Floyd"... Not the same without Roger Waters. Even if I do like the rest of the band.

And Pantera" will never be "Pantera" again, even if pigs fly and they all talk to each other, because Dime is dead (RIP, guitar god. \m/)
