Just wondering. I need some new ones due to the wear on the collar otherwise fine.

Ok the understanding is people wash their shirts after each day, I wear singlets also. But then do people wear their other clothes like merino tops, polo shirts, sweatshirts etc etc .. and wash them after one day's wear?

I worn my nice RRP $350 shirt for work yesterday, i don't really wanna wash that so much.

I wash after i wear....
I just buy new ones and when an old one gets 1 stain it gets thrown.

One of the guys at work either has a bunch of identical shirts... or he goes 2-3 days between washes. Ew.

A singlet doesn't cover your armpits.

I wash work gear daily.
(actually have enough to last a week)

Hehehee.. I have a huge amount identical work (t) shirts.... the only difference is the paint splatters.

I do for the normal shirts. My nicer shirts might just dryclean them after the occasional day I wear them.

With other clothes do you wear them once too like merino tops (icebreakers), rugby jerseys etc...? I can understand t shirts and shirts and polo shirts like that.

8 hours, so if i wear a very nice shirt for 2 hours in the cold (little sweat) every 4 - 8 weeks, i don't wash probably for 5 years if it doesn't get dirty. for pants in that situation probably 1 - 2 years.

but i don't want to be the stench of the office! or grow worms!

$350 shirts should be worn no more than one day, then thrown out and replaced with a new one. The fabric is to delicate to wash!

Well, there are places in London where you can still buy shirts with removable collars. Then you can merely send the collars for laundering as needed - and since collars and cuffs are the most common parts of a shirt to wear, the main body will last longer.

Being self employed in a creative profession I rarely have to wear 'real' shirts. I have a week's worth or so of Harvie & Hudson made to measures from my time in London the oldest of which are now at least 15 years old and still looking fine. Since I have not worn one in probably 2 years at least, I expect them to go on looking fine for some while...!

I used to wash them after one day's wear. Or to be honest, I used to send them to laundry after one day's wear! Ah, the carefree days of being a bachelor!

I wear 1 day then wash. I am one who buys identical shirts. I dont really care if others think I wear the same one day in day out.

If it cannot stand up to being washed regularly it is probably not worth $350 or it is not a work shirt. Alternatively get a better washing machine to go with your new shirt ; ).

I wash after each wear. I have about 20 work shirts, so I tend to let the washed ones pile up and then do an ironing marathon every other week or so.

A good shirt should last a long time if treated properly, and hung properly when ironed etc.

I woulnd't spend $350 on a shirt. About $120 is as high as I go, and I usually pick them up for $60-90 in the Wellington Kirkaldies sales etc.
