the link says it all!

"We've done stranger weddings, naked weddings, same sex weddings but this is the first one that we know will end in divorce"

Reminds me of Britney Spears (who was in the news again)

F******g ridiculous in my view.  This outfit continues to make a mockery of marriage, which is something to be respected and revered, not a stupid radio game-show to boost ratings.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Good point, start the campaign, ring Campbell, Minto, Hager and Colin Craig. We can't let this inequality continue

Considering the target age of the Radio station running the promo is tweens to early 30's what a good way to be a role model about marriage......

I will stick to listening to The Sound even though my partner thinks I am an old man because of it.

I really doubt that folks in the age range you are quoting look for role models in a radio station.

A little off-topic so I'm sorry about that, but you guys raise an interesting question. If we're all okay with marrying whomever we want, why can't we marry as many of whomever we want as long as we make the legal ownership paperwork, etc. check out?

I thought polygamy was a punishment tongue-out

Absolutely agree.

I'm a monogamous sort of chap but I've had several friends over the years who were in polyamorous relationships. Don't see how it hurt anyone.

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup. Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

In South Africa, where Polygamy is legal, and culturally 'normal' amongst the African tribes, an older (50+) Zulu man I worked with in my Uni days as a waiter told me the following about marriage:

1 wife is trouble as she wants your attention all the time and makes problems about ho the house and family should be run
2 wifes are even more trouble as they fight over your attention and argue about which of them is best and who should be picked for your bed that night
3 wives (he said) are better because then they leave you alone and fight with each other to please you and work harder to support and provide for the children
4 wives (4th wife) he said is best, because by that time, the other three have hammered out the pecking order and chores, aren't fighting for your bed anymore, and the household can run smoothly all day while your (young) 4th wife makes your nights interesting and looks after you (all) in your old age.

NOT my opinion as a conservative monogamous devoted husband to SWMBO :)

as long as they all KNEW and agreed at the start, unfortunately, in the westen culture, polygamy is usually practiced without the concent of the various wives, who often only find out years later that they ARE sharing?

Multiple Mother-in-Laws is the punishment for polygamy...

I'm reliably informed that the reason we can't have legal polygamous marriage is because it will logically and immediately lead to cats marrying dogs and the end of civilization as we know it. Or something like that...
