How many of you folks use Snapchat?

I personally use for personal communications with (few) friends who have the app installed, in additional to other channels (email, SMS, Skype, WhatsApp in order of preference). I know of some people who use it as the only way to chat with friends (or strangers, depending on what rocks your boat, I guess) thanks to the ephemeral nature of the messages (they disappear after a specified amount of time).

The NZ Transport Agency has an initiative to use Snapchat updates to distribute educational and marketing messages - you have to follow the "tinnyvision" account to see this unfold.

I am following it now and would like to see your comments on this.

Tinny Vision?
Can someone explain the meaning of that name?

I'm not a Snapchatter so not really qualified to comment and unsure fully what it's about, but if it's as successful as their "On The Move" email traffic alerts initiative was then I'd rather they spend my car rego fees and petrol taxes on fixing and building roads.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

TimA: That image doesn't work.

As in it doesn't display (it works here) or just that you can't make sense of it (certainly the case for me!)?

cant say the name really makes sense to me iver...

Ild say this would go into the basket of just more spam like snapchat themselves send out - who enjoys those oversized videos they send out pretty often?

It's not spam if you subscribe to it, is it? Like Twitter - if you don't like something, unfollow.

That's the beauty of these platforms - Snapchat, Twitter, RSS feeds. You are not forced to anything.

Hmmm. Leaving the image behind, now that we know it's not really relevant, please?
