After far too long spent trying to get the Photo Checker to accept my photo I have finally got it working.

Found out that the photo checker is smart enough to ignore any rotation information in the photo and even if your computer correctly shows the ratio that still doesn't matter to the photo checker.

- Even if the aspect is 3:4 or you can divide the height by .75 and that should be the width, or multiply the width by 1.3333.
- Even after I set my phone to take 4:3 pictures (Samsung S4)
- Even after I used windows to to rotate the image clockwise and anti-clockwise in case that was the issue.
- Even after I had tried with 3 different cameras taking 4:3 photos.

The photo checker still failed to accept the image I supplied and complained about it's aspect ratio.

Finally if I opened up the picture in paint or a photo editor of your choice and resized the photo to 95% (I suspect 99% would have worked too) then the photo checker accepted my image.

That's a few hours of my life I won't be getting back.

I am not sure I'd call the photo checker smart, it's more stubborn to me than being smart.
I forgot how many times I tried, it finally accepted my photo, yet I got an email from a DIA officer telling me the photo wasn't good enough ...
So I ended up taking one from a postshop after all.

Also, the smartgate at the border has never worked for me either.
I don't try the smartgates any more these days.
