Haven't seen this posted elsewhere but in case no one noticed, Apple are giving away U2's latest album FoC on iTunes at the moment....

Well I am keen but it says purchased and the text says it should be in my purchased playlist but there is nothing there and nothing in available downloads.

Hmm. Well it worked for me. It was just sitting there - although I couldn't do it on iOS. I had to use the desktop version of iTunes.

I think that's what you are meant to do.

I found that by refreshing the iTunes page quickly, the displayed status changed from Purchased to Free and back to Purchased.
If you are quick enough, you can click on it while it's in the Free state and then it should download.

No there is a bug in itunes. If you log out then click on teh free link on the U2 album, then log back in, it will then download it. But it is certainly an apple bug, as that is the work around I found on the apple forums.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I have to say - even as an Apple fanboy - that iTunes is a crock.

How such a signature app can be so poor I have no idea. Until quite recently it was not even a simple thing to play a whole album end to end!

Agree I downloaded it and listened but it is just back ground noise.

No a fan I am afraid.

Ok problem solved.

I went into preferences, store and clicked on show itunes in the cloud purchases. It then showed up in the purchased playlist.
This is for itunes on PC.

Like others above, U2 have never been top of my list but heck, a free album from Apple is rarer than rocking horse poo.

It's not the worst album I have ever heard - one or two tracks were quite reasonable. At least there is no rap on it, which has to be a bonus.
