It is an idea for a web site. I don't wish to say more then that but I feel that it's uses would be amazing. I have no idea where I would go to get my idea out there.

Speak with someone you trust who knows their stuff on the net.  Don't put it 'out-there' for all to see, else you may find someone will quickly steal your idea.  Once you've spoken to someone (depending on what the idea is) you could look at getting some mentoring or similar.  I'm not sure where you get this though. :(

Cheers,

Also, it would help telling us where you are. If you are in Wellington, try contacting the Creative HQ. They offer mentoring, office space, etc...

Hello, Im in Hamilton. I don't wish to run the web site I wish to sell the idea. I just need to find where I can talk to people with the money needed to buy and run this website.

I dont think you can sell an idea (once you have told the perspective buyer what the idea is, they have no reason to pay you).

What you could do is try and patent the idea, and then sell the patent.

or

Build the website and then sell the business model, once you have proved it is popular.

I have a company that invest in start up. My background is in investment banking. To be honest with you, there is no value in an idea. Ideas come and go everyday. The implementation of an idea into a business is more important than the idea itself. Investors usually like to not only invest in the idea, business model but also the people behind the idea who has the knowledge and experience to build and grow it.

If you are serious about building up this idea into a business, please email me at

EDIT (RC): Please do not post email address' as you may get hit by spam bots, people may contact you via PM.
