So this morning the Times of London and the BBC are both carrying reports that in Melbourne an Islamic terrorist stabbed two policemen before being shot dead.

Meanwhile just next door neither the Herald nor Stuff yet have the story.

That seems just a bit rubbish!

TVNZ had the story on the breakfast news this morning. Looks like it's their website also.

I was woken by some guy yelling Allahu Akbar in the morning. These 'fundementalists' should be ashamed. They are only provoking the situation making it worse.

KiwiNZ: Long way for the pigeons to fly tongue-out

It does look that way.

For a small place in which little happens, we are somewhat over-provided with news services of all forms. It is a bit concerning that they can't even manage to keep up with things that happen in our back yard.

I am still reeling after the shocking headline that ran for 2 days about a rugby player that got pissed and missed a plane. Now THATS news!

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

^ oooh I dont know about that!  The news 2 nights ago was 15 minutes on Aaron Cruden, followed up by 5 minutes in sport.  Once they had told me what he had done, I was finished with that story as far as care factor went.  That takes 1 minute, so where is the other 19 minutes of my life!? yell

Speaking of slow, the cops invite an 18 year old in to discuss his disturbing behavior and he gets the chance to stab them.

I offer without comment a screen grab that illustrates the quality and priorities of typical NZ news sites. In this case - Stuff.co.nz

I'm still waiting for this week's cat-stuck-up-a-large-tree-for-days story.

It's equally a comment on the 'fans' who are 'grieving' for someone they have never encountered other than on television...!
