Hello everyone,

I am thinking of buying a white-label/re-branded version of an antivirus software. Does anyone have any thoughts, comments, or recommendations about this subject? I just want to gather some information about white labels and any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Why would you do that? Is it cheaper? Is it that much cheaper that it makes a difference to you, putting a third party in the middle of an important task?

Does any major internet security brand do this? Never heard of it in that market.

An odd topic for a first post. I am wondering if it could result in the OP posting a link to the product. Normally companies that buy whitelabeled products are those that they resell and provide their own support for. But not for antivirus, and antivirus software is on the way out anyway.

It is? What will we do instead?

You often see spammers start are topic like this so they can post a link, to help get a good search engine ranking. Maybe they are legitimate, time will tell if they return. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they are legit.

Hey everyone, whitelabel antivirus was just a thought I had. I probably won't even go through with it, I just wanted to see some people's thoughts on the subject. Also if antivirus is on its way out, is something going to replace it?

Are you buying this for your own use or to setup a reseller business?

Lots of software is sold white label to people/companies who then brand and resell it and offer support... eg: Email Marketing (Campaign Monitor, MailChimp), IT support software (kaseya etc).

It only works if the reseller offers value/benefits usually in local support or setup over what buying the software directly would give.

For antivirus/security software I think you'd be better off buying a trusted brand for your own usage and even if you want to get into the reseller business I think trusted brands are important in security software.
