I'm getting some done tomorrow but would just like some quick info on how much they cost roughly from your local photo store

that is following the assumption you can actually get A4 size prints (if not i'm screwed!)

I would compare to digitalmax.co.nz - not a "real" store but generally I find the benchmark for good low cost prints

Thanks! it's about $6 so hopefully it wont be too much more than that at my local store!  Anyone know how well Canon 400D shots blow up?

It depends largely on the quality of the lens that you're using, but even with the kit lens the EOS 400D should produce excellent quality on an A4 print.

You typically don't get A4 from a photographic store as it's not a photographic size.

A4 is very roughly 8"x12" in photographic sizes, as for reproduction quality, it realy depends on how sharp the original is. I've taken a 50% crop off a 1D file (4 megapixel) out to A1 before now ... but that was with a 70-200 2.8 L at 100 asa and from the 1D's legendarly sharp files.

Go for it you have nothing to loose.
