Does anyone know of any companies in Wellington that recycle/refurbish computers to go to charities or schools?

We've got a bunch of 17 inch CRTs we want to offload and it doesn't seem worth the effort selling them on trademe since they don't seem to sell.

Our organisation (Wellington based, education sector) uses remarkit, http://www.remarkit.co.nz/ or The Ark, http://www.the-ark.co.nz/.

Both of these works with schools.

Yeah I came across remarkit this afternoon via google. After a brief phone call it seemed cheaper looking for an alternative method of disposing of this stuff. I can understand it working for larger orgs that have got money to burn, but at $27 a pop to 'throw out' a monitor seemed a bit steep for our company.

We're happy for any lower decile school to come and get these for free if they can arrange the transport, but it doesn't seem like there are any charity organisations in wgtn who do this for free...

shame really
