Any one had any experience with the DSE online store - I have read a few stories and it scares me
They currently have the camera I want at an amazing price - it however just seems a bit too good to be legit considering the before sale price is $100 cheaper than RRP http://www.dicksmith.co.nz/point-shoot/canon-sx700-dsc-black-dsnz-xg0923?

The picture and wording is correct, the camera name in their listing not so much.
(They also have the same listing on Trademe)

Any one had any luck getting in store to order from their own store for in store collection?
What about another retailer like Harvey Norman or Noel Leeming to match an online price and purchase in store

Cheers

Noel leeming has a price match guarantee. Just show them evidence of the price elsewhere and bingo. Never had any issues.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

I have had several occasions when I have had trouble getting them to price match, as they do have lots of terms, which they use to get out of price matching. If they don't have the product instore, or if the product elsewhere is advertised as limited time offer, or limited stock, they don't have to price match as per their terms. ALso many of the deals offered elsewhere, especially around boxing day are loss leaders, so any retailer offering this type of price match guarantee will not want to be making any losses.

If DSEs price is so good, then I would reward them for the good price, by buying from them.

Never had any issues with the online store. In fact its usually a better experience than Noel Leemings - which ive had numerous issues with.

I've had no issues when ordering online from dse, both when it's to be courier end or when I've "clicked and collected".

Dick Smith frequently has loss leader deals going online.  Why, earlier this year I bought a PS4 from Dick Smith Aus (via eBay) for about $397, which is a pretty massive saving (over the Aus price.  It's practically free compared to the NZ price).

Thanks for the comments all
I'll check the closest Dunedin store and see if they have any physically in hand and at the same price before ordering online.

Dunedin DSE 'price-matched' the online store
Said that the $399 RRP was the old RRP, so $299 less 20% off was the correct price.

odd given you can just 'click and collect' for free at a local store at the online prices.

Sadly you couldn't click and collect on this item, it was delivery only.
