reat in theory, I suppose, but doomed to failure simply by virtue of the fact that it's Starbucks...I spoke to my Los Angeles based fiancee this afternoon about this...she apparently asked a "barista" at her local Starbucks about it, and he happily informed her that a) it comes in a Grande size cup (16 ounces/475ml) and with approximately 1 INCH of foam. So it doesn't sound too flat to me...also is WAY bigger than you would ever get here, and still only with two espresso shots at that size...so, sounds like a bit of a fail to me...

The worst part is probably that we'll have Americans coming here telling Uus that we're doing it wrong based on the assumption that Starbucks way is the right way...

Apparently developed in Australia, but perfected in Wellington (according to some Aussie foodie I think it was).

I'll have mine black thanks, and throw away the sugar.

That's certainly some people's opinion - I mainly drink them, but I also will go for the odd black coffee depending on my mood...especially like the looks I get at work when drinking from my Chemex! But I digress...the point surely is that Starbucks are appropriating and corrupting a good ol' kiwi culinary icon!!

Im boring when it comes to coffee.

Black with Milk and 1.5 Demadera sugars.

Been enjoying the Orb single origin coffees from Countdown lately, bit pricey at $6.99 for 150g but at one per day it lasts 2 weeks.

There is only a few Cafe's that I have found coffee that I like, none are Starbucks, they are horrible along with Spruce Goose, Coffee Club, McCafe (disgusting) to name a few I hate.

I enjoy my Nespresso Coffee and the coffee my son makes when I visit him.

Had all of those except Spruce goose, agree, how can they even sell that stuff as Coffee ? Its pretty bad when you are hung over and McCafe doesnt even cut it...says alot.

Agreed. All froth and no substance.

My personal poison is Jeds Number 5 beans, fresh ground and filtered through Melitta filters, served with about 5% milk (normal from the fridge) and no sugar.

A group of my (kiwi) colleagues in our Westminster (near Denver, Colorado) office taught the local coffee shop how to make a proper coffee.
It started as being only available on Friday, but is now available as a standard option - known on the menu as the "Trimble Latte" (Trimble being the name of our company).
