I recently bought some art off eBay from a US seller, paid for it on the 6th of Jan and it has already arrived!!

That is just insanely fast for the size of the item and the time of year. Couldn't be happier! Yay for USPS and NZ Post.

(And it is here well ahead of my wifes birthday wink)

I've always found it fast: it does not slow down until it gets to NZ...!!

I've had things take twice as long to go from Auckland to Martinborough as they took to go from Kentucky to Auckland.

Just had some stuff delivered to YouShop US. Will see how long it takes them to tell me it is there, then get it here. I've found it good once it is in NZ, just takes them about a week to sort it there and get it to NZ.

Yeah, I've also got something that I've just paid YouShop US to deliver, so I'm curious to see how that goes as it is the first time I have used YouShop. And there was 15% discount on shipping via YouShop at the moment.

takes 3 days at most for couriers. The end up using commercial passenger carriers if they are small enough

I have had similar experience when we bought my wife's kindle years ago, took 2 days by DHL to Auckland and 3 working days from Auckland Airport to New Windsor Auckland ( about 15km from the airport ), there was no customs delay either.

They offloaded the parcel to courier post and took forever to deliver it.
I think they said it was not labelled correctly but it was, the only thing missing was directions from the airport to me.

Cheers
John

I had a parcel dispatched from YouShop on the 7th, and it arrived in NZ yesterday (and has cleared customs). It hasn't turned up at my place yet, but I expect it either today or tomorrow.

Edit: Was waiting for me at home :)

I ordered a Zagg keyboard case for my Ipad Air2 and it arrived to me in 4 days, ordered on Friday morning NZ time arrived Monday.

If I could have got it locally, which I couldn't it would surprise me if I got it quicker.

I've found that just after Xmas is a good time to get things quicker than normal
Don't know if its because they still have staff hired from the busy season and they need something to do...

I thought I was so clever for buying all my Xmas pressies online from Amazon and Café Express at the beginning of December. The last of them finally arrived 2 days ago. Fully half arrived after Xmas.

I ordered something from Newegg (haven't used them previously but thought I'd give them a go) over the weekend, via DHL. It was picked up Monday their time and arrived in Auckland this morning, although now it's status is "The Clearance process for this shipment is on-going with additional details required for clearance", so I'm guessing that it will take longer from Auckland airport to my home address (also in Auckland), than it did from their premises in LA to Auckland, but I might be suprised.
