I bought three screen protectors from XtremeGuard after Christmas, taking advantage of their buy three, get 91% off discount. They arrived yesterday and felt compelled to share my thoughts with fellow GZ'ers who might be looking at buying from XtremeGuard.
The price was unbeatable, but sadly it looks like you get what you pay for. I bought one for my Surface Pro 3, an iPad 4, and an iPhone 6 - shipped for $11NZD all up, so no complaints about the price, but they arrived packaging-less, in a plain white envelope, which had been bent several times. As a result, two of the screen protectors were substantially creased. They may flatten out, but I'm not hopeful.
I also didn't realise that the application method differs from the majority of other protectors out there. It's a wet application, meaning you have to wet the protector in soapy water and slide it around your screen to get it right, then squegee the extra water out, then let it dry for up to 24 hours. It may be perfectly safe but I'm too nervous about letting my devices get close to that much water to try it just yet. If I'd realised that at the start, I wouldn't have bothered.
All up, I'm disappointed. Though the price is good, the shipping method and care leaves a lot to be desired. It could have been improved by adding to pieces of stiff cardboard to prevent folding. I'm also uneasy about a wet application method for a screen protector. The only plus side is that I'm $11 down, but that's a lot better than then nearly $70 that it would have cost me at full price.
