Just thought id post about it here (hopefully the right area for such a thing (did a quick search to make sure im not duplicating some other topic)), although many of you guys already know, but for those that don't, Lootcrate now ships to New Zealand as of January 2015 (i'm compensating for people who read this in the future)

What is Lootcrate:
Lootcrate is a monthly subscription service in America that ships out a box of geeky collectables/things based around a theme for the month (More of a summed up version, you can read more on the website)

Cost:
Its about 29.95USD/month (when you select New Zealand) unless you use a promo code then you get about three bucks off, it includes shipping and handling aswell

It does have a non recurring Gift sub option which may or may not cost round about just as much or abit more but means you can get it on a when you want it kind of thing and ships at the same time as the recurring subscriptions

Note: I have heard that tracking details are abit of an issue internationally apparently

Im a first time sub'er to lootcrate and getting febuary's crate but i have been keeping as much of a close eye on lootcrate for abit now

Website: http://www.lootcrate.com

Yeah, I got the current crate, it's pretty cool. Have been meaning to get them for ages (and ship via Aus), but it's nice now that it's supporting NZ shipping directly.

A Voltron Blueprint T-shirt, some 8-bit sunglasses, a retro arcade tie, a So Analog figure, a pocket notebook and a Star Wars comic.

Well this sounds dangerous...

Given that the price of one of those Batman\Dhalsim figurines from EB is about NZ$35, then the crate might not be bad value.

So if they put a t-shirt in there how do they know what size you're? From the past crates (that look more like small boxes than a crate) there is a lot of junk and one or two good items, a good deal if you get something you want I guess.

On the Lootcrate reddit seems 50/50, a lot of swapping of items on there too. Not sure about this one, I can see the appeal of getting a mystery box each month but I rather order items I'm after :-)

You can select your size when you first subscribe, from what i understand not all lootcrates will have a tshirt but hey its a mystery! As i mentioned in my first post, i have only subbed for the first time for this month as i missed January's crate since i only found out like a few days after they shipped last months!

And i think of this as like a better version of 1-day's bag of crap, but its a tad more expensive, but i at least know im getting something geeky based on a theme so -shrug- imo anyway :P

Good to know, would be okay if there was a t-shirt each month, I like to collect t-shirts. :-)

Hopefully far better than 1 day, especially at $$27ish US. Will be interesting to see what the February box turns out like, I do like how they show previous boxes on the site :-)

You could post a link to the contents, with massive **SPOILER ALERT** warnings. May be useful for non-subscribers to gauge whether the service is worth it for them

Yeah that is true; the value may or may not be worth it to some anyway from what i am reading on reddit but in my opinion i don't get alot of geeky collectables so value isn't really an issue for me to be honest

If you want to gaurantee a teeshirt each month (and you can change your male/female and size pref during if there is a known special about to come out) www.nerdblock.com ship to NZ too.

Which also have spinoff horrorblock and arcade.
